Valerian Root is known to help reduce the time it takes to fall asleep and improve the quality of sleep, it may also help to calm and reduce anxiety, help lower blood pressure and may also act as a muscle suppressor to improve the discomfort of menstrual cramps.
The flavour is that of a woody, earthy tone, some people therefore like to add honey to sweeten it slightly.

Add one heaped teaspoon to hot but not boiling water and brew for 5 - 10 minutes depending on taste.
